FIRST SIX MONTHS
Semester 1
Journalism - An Introduction, Cotemporary India and Current Debates, News and Other Genres of Writing.

Semester 2
Editing and Language Proficiency, Reporting, Media Laws and Ethics.

Semester 3
Media Management, Audio Visual Communication, Practical Submissions.

Followed by next SIX MONTHS of Internship.

Overview :
Reporting and writing are the central disciplines of journalism. Accordingly, the core of the curriculum remains an extensive series of lectures and workshops on gathering and presenting news. Through workshops, exercises and field assignments, students shall learn to seek out information and convey it in journalistic manner. This experience will help them inculcate variety of skills indispensable to all the branches of journalism. Regular interaction with the media scholars and practitioners will allow them widen their horizon. Education and training in the Print and Electronic Media stream has been designed to harness the students with all the required skills and qualities so that by the time they complete the course they are ready to perform confidently in the newsroom while also maintaining integrity of the profession. Students begin by paying close attention to the content, structure, and language of different types of stories in its entirety. In the consecutive semesters , students learn to select, report, edit and produce pieces in the form required . They use the Internet and other information and data resources to discover new angles to the stories they are working while also generating story ideas. They also learn to act responsibly and ethically. After a while the students begin to publish a lab journal.

Six months Internship
The academic year ends with six months internship at Rajasthan Patrika the largest Hindi News daily of Rajasthan / other media houses.The first-hand experience of operation and working in the media house will instill confidence to work under the pressure of deadlines.
